STAGE MANAGER
The Stage Manager is required to attend rehearsals from January 18 2015 .
During the rehearsal period the Stage Manager needs to learn every aspect of the show, and work alongside the Director, Musical Director and Production Manager.
Once the show opens, the management of the show will be handed over from the director and the production manager to the stage manager.
From bump in - The Stage Manager needs to be actively involved with the smooth transition from rehearsal room to theatre, and take control of the casts call times and in-theatre requirements.
The Stage Manager does not need to call any cues during the show, their responsibilities are (but not limited to):

Preparing the venue prior to cast and crew arrival

Managing the call times and safe arrival of cast and crew
-
Communicating with FOH and Crew for pre production
-
Managing Cast microphone fittings
-
Managing Cast sound checks
-
Managing Cast warm ups
-
Managing Band sound checks
-
Ensuring all on stage and back stage OHS regulations are met

Managing the organization of all props, costumes and sets, also their maintenance.

Managing change rooms to be in a clean and organised manner
-
Being on call as a point of contact for all cast
This role is best suited to a recent graduate, or final year student looking for industry experience. We will also consider applicants who have extensive industry experience.
SET DESIGNER
The Set Designer will work in close detail with the Director and Executive Producers, and will be responsible for designing the stage and scenic design, as well as collating the materials required to construct the set. The Set Designer is responsible for the entire construction of the set and scene and must adhere to strict timelines to ensure the final product is delivered to the theatre smoothly and bumped in quickly, efficiently and safely.
The Set Designer is also responsible for the deconstruction of the set, and returning any hired goods, and disposing of any unwanted materials.
The Set Designer must stick to a very strict budget.
This position is best suited to a recent design graduate, or current student wanting to gain industry experience. We will also strongly consider talented applicants who can demonstrate industry experience with a good contact list.
COSTUME DESIGNER
The Costume Designer will work in close detail with the Cast, Director and Executive Producers and will be responsible for every aspect of costuming the production. The Costume Designer must have a meeting with the director to understand the shows vision and concept before designing or committing to any design palette.
The Costume Designer must stick to a strict budget and not exceed the allocated funds. The Costume Designer is responsible for taking measurements, fitting costumes, sourcing materials, hiring goods, washing costumes during the show run, mending issues as they arise during the run, returning all hired goods at the end of the season, disposing of any unwanted materials at the end of the production.
This role is best suited to a recent costume graduate, current design student, or someone with extensive experience with in the industry.
PROPERTIES MANAGER
The Properties Manager will work closely with the Director and Production Manager to ensure all props required for the show are sourced and looked after. The Properties Manager must take responsibility to store all props during the rehearsal period, delivering them to the theatre, managing toe organization of props during the run of the show, mending or replacing any props which break during rehearsals or productions. The Properties Manager is responsible to return all hired goods and dispose of all unwanted goods at the end of the season. The Properties Manager must work to a strict budget.
This role is best suited to someone who has experience in the field with a good contact list.
MARKETING & PR ASSISTANT (Unpaid - Expenses Covered)
The Marketing/PR Assistant will work closely with the Executive Producers and assist in all areas of the role. The successful applicant needs to be prepared to dedicate 4 hours over Wednesdays 12pm - 4pm from January 7th 2015, and be active on email and phones during the week from their own location. The Marketing/PR Assistant needs to be accessible and on call through the weeks of rehearsal and productions.
The Marketing/PR Assistant will be heavily involved in the management of the opening night, and management of VIP guests.
The Marketing/PR Assistant, needs to be competent to make cold calls to media, efficiently manage their email database, and return calls and email in a rapid and efficient manner.
This would most suit a recent graduate looking for experience, or a current Marketing or communications student looking to gain industry experience.
PRODUCTION INTERNSHIP (Unpaid - Expenses Covered)
The Production Assistant Interns will gain experience working across all elements of the production. They will assist the director, musical director, production Manager, Stage Manager, Set Designer, Costume Designer, Props Manager, Marketing Team and Executive Producers. Working on a roster you will average attending one rehearsal a week minimum, and x2 shows a week minimum. Previous interns have used their time with StageArt to gain extra credits toward their studies.
We are looking for 3 - 4 interns, who have a passion for theatre and want to gain hands on experience.
CREATIVE ASSISTANTS (Unpaid - Expenses Covered)
(Directors Assistant, Assistant Choreographer, Assistant MD)
If you are anting to gain industry experience working alongside our creative team, you need to show creative talent and passion for the theatre. You must be available to assist during the auditions, and the pre production meetings, as well as the ability to attend at lease 70% of the rehearsal period. These roles are best suited to up and coming creative types who are very organised, efficient, honest and hard working
